We had a wonderful time in St Lucia at la gallerie. We were two families of 4 and there was plenty of room for all of us to enjoy the beautiful view of the pitons while eating our meals, swimming at the pool, and just hanging out. We also enjoyed the snorkeling beach just a short walk down from the house and Jade beach just down the road. The staff was also really accommodating and flexible by providing lunch and dinner for us instead of breakfast and dinner since the kids were all early risers and wanted breakfast before the staff arrived at 9. Bernard was always available when we wanted to go somewhere and gave great suggestions. The only improvement we would have enjoyed was if there was air conditioning in all of the rooms, not just two. Our kids woke up with a few new mosquito bites every morning despite our efforts with the mosquito nets and bug spray. There is so much to do in this island, with a lot of it in the South, not more than 10-15 minute van ride with Bernard from the house. We highly recommend scuba diving with Chester, sugar beach, chocolate restaurant, sulfur springs park, mystic man catamaran rental and the water park in Rodney Bay ( we took a speed boat to get there). It was an amazing vacation.
While I was expecting a wonderful home from the pictures, the entire experience was even greater than conveyed by the pictures. The home is wonderful! And the staff was terrific. We had two women clean every day, a cook and assistant, a security man ( though we never felt unsafe in any way) and someone who came every day to tend to the pool and the flowers and vegetation. I was not expecting such a large, friendly and wonderful staff. And our driver Bernard was terrific. What we had originally planned on renting two cars. We ended up keeping only one, and hardly used that at all. We used Bernard for everything and it was certainly the right choice given the difficult (curvy and not lit) and bumpy roads. We were a party of eight, a couple in our 60s with four adult children and a son and a daughter in law. The home was spacious and perfect for our group. We had Shermaine cook us two dinners, Which were very nice, and had Bernard take us to the restaurants in the area each night. We did a number of snorkeling and diving expeditions. I’ve been to many places in the Caribbean. Frankly, I was not expecting such lovely coral, sponges and undersea life. The snorkeling and diving were among the best I have done. We spent some of our days at the beach is adjoining Anse Chastenet and Jade Mountain that were down the road within walking distance and had lunch at their restaurants, which were good. We also went to Sugar Beach for a day and were very happy that we chose this home over Sugar Beach. It is a much better value. You do not have to put up with the crowd and the house staff is friendlier. I also note that Barbara Benton, the owner, was very helpful with respect to providing advice regarding activities on the island and regarding her recommendation of Bernard and our dive and Snorkeling guide Chester..All in all, it was a fantastic week in a lovely home.
It is hard to describe the beauty of the house and the views of the Pitons. It is simply amazing. The greatest experience we have had on vacation ever. Every need and expectation was met by the property and staff. Charmaine, Cookie, Albert, Bernard took great care of us and made it even more special. There is little reason to ever leave the property as it is the gem of the island. We are already inviting more friends to join us and working on scheduling next holiday at Le Gallerie. Thank you Barbara and Ben.
Don't forget your camera ! You will want to look at that view forever! Extremely special place and having travelled all over the world, there are also very special people in St Lucia. Beauty & smiles abounds in all directions. The property and house are stunning. If one appreciates historically designed homes for locations such as this, you will appreciate the house even more. Everything perfectly designed for comfort and maximum use of the views. The staff were amazing and the food equally as delightful. Having two hotels close by permitted us to also enjoy restaurants and the beach. Climb down the mountain side with Tiki to the private rock beach if you have the power or be lazy around the pool with a cold Piton beer!
Words cannot express how much fun my family and I had at the Le Gallerie property. Everything was absolutely perfect! The home was so beautiful, my husband and I couldn't stop taking pictures of the home itself, and the view of the Pitons from the dining table! The view was so amazingly beautiful! They're no words in the English language that could describe the beauty of the view. The amazing hardworking staff, the food prepared by Chef Sharmaine, and the card games that my family played with the security guard, Albert, were definitely the few highlights of our trip. I cannot end this review without thanking the most wonderful owners of the property, Ben and Bar! You both were extremely accommodating to my large family of 12. My family consisted of 10 adults and 2 infants. The owners made sure that baby cribs were available for the babies to sleep. The owners and all of the staff went over and beyond my expectations to make sure my family and I were well taken care of during our stay at the villa. My husband and I are still raving about the key lime pie, fish cakes, coconut shrimp and the steaks that Sharmaine made for us. I definitely plan to return to St. Lucia again in the near future to stay at this hidden gem of paradise. When I return, I plan to conquer the Gros Piton hike a second time and spend more time at the Sulphur Springs ????
