King George Coins of British India were a series of coins minted during the reign of King George V and VI. These coins were in circulation from the early 20th century until India gained independence in 1947. The coins included various denominations such as Silver Coins, Gold Coins, Half Rupee, One Rupee, Quarter Rupee and Anna Coins during the reign of King George V. They featured the Sculptural representation of the respective monarch on the obverse and the denomination or designs on the reverse.
King George VI Coins had similar denominations and designs with the portrait. Additionally, Commemorative One Rupee Coins of King George were minted during Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887. These coins hold historical significance and are of interest to collectors of Indian and British Colonial Numismatics.
